Dallas County Probate Judge Jimmy Nunn praised Martin Luther King Jr. and Congressman John Lewis for their historic Civil Rights achievements on April 4.
At the 56th anniversary of MLK鈥檚 assassination, Nunn said聽 MLK should be more honored
鈥淲e have come a long way, but we still have a ways to go,鈥� Nunn said. 鈥淲hen King got killed, he was at the Lorraine Hotel fighting for people who couldn鈥檛 defend themselves.鈥�
Nunn also praised Lewis for leading the 鈥淏loody Sunday鈥� march across the Edmund Pettus Bridge on March 7, 1965, resulting in the Voting Rights Act of 1965. Lewis is a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.聽
