Registration is $5 for students and $10 for adults.

There is a group rate of $50 for groups of five to 10 people. The Links are encouraging organizations, churches, and other groups to come out.

This year鈥檚 theme is 鈥淪tep by Step … Healthy, Energetic, Active Communities.鈥

The walk-a-thon is a national initiative put on by Links chapters across the country.

鈥淭he 疯客直播 chapter has embraced it because it鈥檚 something that is much needed in this area when looking at our health statistics,鈥 said Links president Charlotte Griffeth. 鈥淲e also like to do it because it not only promotes good healthy living but we also make the proceeds from this each year go to the BOSCO soup kitchen.鈥

In addition to the walk, there will be information provided from various health-related businesses.

鈥淲e are looking for a grand crowd this year,鈥 Griffith said. 鈥淣o. 1, we have several civic organizations and churches that have already signed up. The bands are coming, the cheerleaders are coming, and we have a lot of support this year. We hope to see everyone out.鈥
